Jeff Pelletier and I did SF’s Open Studios together in October 2001, and it was a blast. We did it in the garage of “Albion Castle,” which Jeff was renting with a roommate, on the road to the main Hunter’s Point open studios. I showed photos, and Jeff showed his sculpture.
I’d spent the past few months adventuring and taking tonsĀ of pictures with my new Canon Digital Elph, which at two megapixels was the latest and greatest. This was a period of huge positive energy for me, after the dot com bubble burst and I decided to return to my creative/media/entrepreneur roots. It was also right after 9/11… a good time to do something low to the ground.
Below is a selection of the photos I showed that day, and some of the people who were there. I sold over $1,000 worth but the material and printing alone cost about $1,000. It didn’t matter… having people like and buy your art is is a great feeling!
