Democracy, climate… everything hangs in the balance. Use your voice now.

I got an email this morning (excerpt below) from a Democratic Party insider friend. They said they think the next 48 hours “will be determinative” re: Biden.

So I’m reaching out to everyone I know today to ask them to use their connections to Democratic influencers (at all levels) to share their views on Biden as I have (I think he’s been great, but should step aside now).

Democratic leaders can only muster as much conviction as they get from donors and supporters. Thanks for any quick messages you can send to them today.

Hi Dave:

… please know that these conversations have been happening among all of the influential people (mostly the most generous donors/organizers) and the right electeds—and have not let up.  Yes, I have been in some of them.  Also know that a new nominee is a really complicated and risky proposition.

I think the next 48 hours will be determinative.  If you have strong connections as a donor to any Senator or House member, this is the time for you to contact them and ask that they share your position with Schumer/Jeffries.  And ask your wealthy anti-Trump friends to do the same…surely some of your buddies have supported Democratic electeds and have relationships?  

Personally, I’m doing what I can about it, but mostly I’m focusing on the work that must go on.  We have got to mobilize and protect the vote.  We have to be relentless in our messaging about Trump, MAGA, and the havoc they will wreak.  We absolutely must prevent a GOP trifecta by winning the House.

…If we want to win, we need a different candidate than Joe Biden. He’s a great guy who’s done great things, but has zero chance of winning vs Trump. Time to gracefully and quickly step aside so the party can nominate someone younger and stronger who at least has a chance of standing up to Trump and winning.

This is a decisive moment, and only by being decisive can we save ourselves from four more years of Trump and incompetence and worse.

Please, please, add my name to whoever else is saying this to you as you talk to folks over the next couple days.

And if I’m the only one, sorry for being a pain in the ass. But I trust my instincts, and what I see is a train wreck.
